Safestay London Elephant & Castle is a well-located hostel in a 17th-century red brick Victorian building which was the former Labour Party headquarters. It is just 2 minutes walk from Elephant & Castle tube station. The hostel features a spacious lobby with plenty of outlets for electronic devices, a cool bar area, and a heated patio garden where guests can relax and socialize. The 4-bed dorms provide privacy with curtains, while private rooms have a 40-inch LCD TV and tea/coffee-making facilities. Yours Booking staff very very Rude and Amended with customers. Especially yesterday Night your staff will meet at me He is very very worst person in this world. He is Do Not polite speak with customer. I Think He is Name Muffain some Think. At same Time I Don't Reference with my friends in your stay accommodation. Particularly yesterday Night I'm very scared I'm in your Accommodation.

The staff was really nice and helpful. We had booked a 8 beds dorm for our group of 7 people and had the room just for ourselves, which was nice. We had a problem with the toilets which was quickly fixed when we asked the staff. The localisation is great, not far from the center and next to bus stops and metro stations.

The equipment are not the most comfortable (the beds in particular) and it could be nice to have access to a microwave/a kettle in the lobby.

Good location close to local facilities

I booked the mixed 6-bed dorm for 1 night and this was fine. The room was a good size and cool with open windows (I prefer this to a warm room). The room and bed linen were clean. There's a bar downstairs and space both indoors and out if you don't want to go anywhere else. Water for shower and hand washing was hot. Next door is a supermarket and the hostel is on a local high street with cafe, pub and small shops.

The hostel was fine and I'd use it again. My next comments are just about the online check-in which the website says will reduce the need to queue. The online check-in before I arrived didn't make any difference because I still had to queue on arrival for my room card and show my ID. The member of staff also left the reception just as I got to the front of the queue without an explanation and was gone for 5 minutes which is a bit frustrating - no-one likes to hang about waiting!

Only the location

- Somethings were broken in my room, they told me at the reception that they will fix it. It was never fixed - The lift was not working - Checkout time is early compared to other hostels - Each night when you come back late you have to note down the time and date of your arrival (to avoid incidents as they said)...the most useless thing I ever saw

Very poor

This is a place, where I found the most inconsiderate and arrogant staffs. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels over many countries, but never came across managers lacking pure sense. I booked the hostel for initially 7 days, and they couldn't provide one place, where I could stay continuously. So, they advised me to check out and check in again. I understand, they must have a reason and happily accepted. However, I asked, if I can have a little late check out ( 11 am instead of 10). They were adamant that, I had to pay 5 extra towards late check out. It was baffling, as it was not my fault for moving between rooms and I had some genuine work, and I had to go out around 9 am. I happily complied to them at the first place, and instead of being grateful, they had the bizarre explanations. Its not 5, but more about ethics and being sensible. It was a shame, the way each and every one in the front desk including the manager responded . You guys don't deserve 1 star even.
