Nearly perfect.

Pool was amazing. The complimentary Chocolate happy hour was a nice touch if it had of been explained to us better when we arrived. Beds comfortable and location perfect. Love the complimentary sparkling water in reception/bar area.

Communication on check in was not great. More info on the facilities and chocolate hour would have been nice. On our TV hotel guide it said there was a cosy of $20 so we nearly didn't go. As we got back from our walk and it was on I enquired re price and was told it was complimentary, unfortunately we missed 1/2 of it and the platters were empty for another 5-10 mins. The few chocolates we ate were delicious.

Overall good but let down by the buffet breakfast experience

Modern furnished building, great location, close to Southern cross station.

Noises coming from above/other rooms (plumbing or?) Also we had some issues with the buffet breakfast. We were seated and then went to get some food immediately. As we returned, another guest said that the table we were at was their table. It appears the hotel staff did not realise another staff member had already seated us there. We informed the closest staff member we could find and fortunately the guest chose to sit at another table. Clearly whatever system or process the staff uses does not work effectively and we should not have had to debate another guest about who's table it was. Moreover the other issue we had was also at the buffet breakfast. There are 4 hotplates with food which guests can take from. As I walked up to one to get some food a member of staff removed it and went to top it up in the kitchen. I waited at keast 5-7 minutes for it to return. There was already food in it to begin with and topping it up especially when a guest is near by is not acceptable

A very comfortable stay in a well thought out hotel

Its a really nice hotel. The rooms are very clean, well thought out and the location is very convenient as there is a tram station right next to the hotel. The breakfast buffet is also very delicious!

The hotel has public wifi. Would have preferred if it was password protected so its more secure.

Not being able to access a restaurant for dinner. If I had known the restaurant wasnt open during my stay, I would have chosen another hotel. The bed was uncomfortable so getting a good sleep was difficult

Great location, very professional and helpful staff. Excellent value for a 4 1/2 star :)

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I was able to check in as soon as I arrived at 2pm, and my room was quiet, beautifully presented and reasonably spacious. This is my second visit to the Movenpick Hotel. This time I also was able to enjoy the Chocolate afternoon tea, offered to guests at 3pm each day. The restaurant, bar and lobby/lounge is light and well-equipped. The pool deck was lovely, although the gym was a bit smaller and dark than anticipated from the photos. However, it was very clean and offered a limited but good range of equipment for a basic workout. Breakfast was tasty and fresh - a small space but offering a bit of many things. The location is great, right across the street from Southern Cross Station (ie. Sky Bus to the airport, regional trains, Myki cards) and between a number of major tram lines. The location of the hotel is also close to the river and within the free tram zone, which is very handy. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

The gym was tucked away in the middle of the second floor, no windows and quite small. The photos make it look better than it is. However, it was very clean and had a basic range of equipment.
