The staff were extremely slow and seemed unbothered with being helpful. I ended up going back downstairs from my room to get my luggage when the porter did not manage to bring it up after half an hour, and found it unattended in the entryway. I had to wait to speak with them when they returned so that they did not think it had been stolen! The pool did not have towels and it took a phone call to reception and then a conversation with three other staff members before someone from housekeeping finally retrieved one from behind the bar. We ordered cocktails by the pool on a day where there was maybe only four other couples there, and they took almost an hour to make.
The location is also awkward. It is not far from Makkasan station, but on a main road with no footpath, shoulder or lighting and we had to cross a train track and walk down a four lane highway to get to and from the station. It is also on the back of an area with plenty of services and places to eat, but the rear of the hotel has no access so you need to walk down the aforementioned highway and around the corner almost a kilometre to get to it all. There is an MRT, khlong boat, SRT and airport train all within a 20 minute walk, but they are not pleasant walks due to the logistics of the area and there is nothing to see.
