Best time for a staycation in Ladakh?

The best time to visit Ladakh is during the summer season from April to June when the climate is pleasant to enjoy the breathtaking landscape. The temperature during this time ranges from 15 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celcius. Summers in Ladakh is the peak tourist season with the sun bright and pleasantly warm. It is the best time to camp by Pangong Tso, rafting through the Indus River, or taking a safari through the Nubra Valley. April to June is also the best time for a biking trip to Ladakh.

Leh Ladakh is known for extremely low temperatures almost throughout the year. During the monsoons from July to September, Ladakh is prone to landslides and roadblocks. Winters in Ladakh from October to March is freezing cold with the temperatures going down to as low as -30 degrees Celcius at time. The Leh-Manali highway also closes from October to May which makes Leh Ladakh inconvenient to reach during these months. However, the winter months are popular amongst adventure enthusiasts for the Chadar Trek.
