Glorious historic luxury stay

This is the perfect experience for those wanting a luxurious staying London but without the generic blandness of a chain hotel. The history behind this place and the exquisite rooms, gin lounge and library just make it an amazing place to stay. On the same street as a tube station makes it so accessible for all aspects of travel - but especially as it is one stop from Kings Cross/St Pancras. The hotel staff cannot do enough to help you enjoy your stay - the manager we had for the majority of our time, Alexandra, was literally invaluable for advice and help with anything and all the staff were so friendly, efficient and accomodating - they obviously enjoy their jobs and it shows!

An amazing experience in this gorgeous hotel. I'll be back.

A really unique place oozing with charm. The location is perfect, the room and common areas are gorgeous, the staff was attentive and friendly. This is not just a place to spend the night, it's an experience in itself.

The bed was perhaps a little smaller and less comfortable than I'm used to for this class of hotels.

Great stay and we would definitely go there again!

Great service, and very comfortable venue with lots of cozy spaces. We enjoyed the sense of homeyness throughout our stay, and it was of course pretty awesome getting to have time with the house cat!

So many of the furnishings, towels, bathrobes and bedding were of very high quality. I could really tell that a lot of thought went into all the selections. My one problem was that I found the mattress way to firm for me. As a side sleeper, I needed a bit more give in order to be comfortable, and as a result I often woke with sore shoulders and hips in the morning.

It was a pleasant stay

Easy access to rail transport. Beautiful library and sitting room. Staff very accomodating. Nice cat

Very noisy. Unable to sleep due to the noise outside from people at the pubs. Noisy street cars and trucks most of the night. The room above had squeaky floorboards. Unable to work the shower temperature had to have baths.

Great location and wonderful staff

Our room was very dark and hot despite we switched the heating off. The bathroom was downstairs, making a trip to the toilet during the night uncomfortable.
