The Driskill is a historic hotel with a charming atmosphere and ghost stories. While the rooms are a bit old, they are still decent. The location is great and close to downtown hotspots. Some minor i (Read More)ssues were reported, such as cold rooms, lack of information from the front desk, limited room service options, and a disappointing view. However, overall, guests enjoyed their stay and appreciated the beautiful lobby and friendly staff. The hotel offers guided tours and has a great bar and grill. The staff is attentive and helpful. The hotel has a strong connection to Austin culture and provides a warm and cozy atmosphere.

Hit & miss - and boy, the miss can sting!

As beautiful as it appears here - magnificent setting & facilities.

Had $450 of Christmas gifts stolen from the trunk of our valet-parked car on or around Christmas Eve. Front desk definitely distanced hotel from this valet company, saying they were a new company and to check with their office (in a neighboring garage). But heading into city to negotiate with this hotels contractors wasnt how wed planned to celebrate Christmas, unfortunately. Took 3 additional requests to get room cleaned properly on Christmas, but that appeared to be just due to staff holiday drug use, probably not as bad the rest of the year, Id hope. Management at the hotel bar throws waaaay too much attitude when you ask for something, like a visit to the table after 15 minutes of sitting. Honestly, overall, facilities are excellent, but staff is the problem. This is clearly top-down & likely wont be fixed soon - in fact, given the attitude shown our entire time, I fully expect them to fight us in the comments here, too. Too bad they dont have the guy from the breakfast cafe running the big show, because he and that cafe were outstanding.

The sheets were way too short for the bed, there is not enough sheet to cover up your arms and shoulders.

6th street is a seedy mess. Somebody ODd right outside the hotel. The building is a gem.

Breakfast was decent. Hotel is beautiful. Staff was pleasant and accommodating.

Room, a suite was underwhelming. View of a rooftop/brick wall. Bathroom too small for suite.

The staff is friendly and very helpful. The history and beauty of this hotel is amazing. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the hotel restaurant and was very comfortable in our hotel room.

We loved everything about this hotel.

We will be back soon!!!

The staff was very responsive. We appreciate the provision of a small fridge as we had several nights stay, and coffee and water were provided daily. The facilities are top notch and beautiful. The Christmas tree and decorations were impressive and the smell of fir trees greeted you when you entered, and there was lovely music daily.

Great location. Staff was wonderful. The hotel has so much history and is so ornate. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. You can pretty much Uber anywhere in downtown for $5. We walked a good bit and felt very safe.

Very very very dissapointed

Location is great

The Driskill, looks great on the booking.com pictures but once I got there it was quite different. I got to the hotel around 11pm the door was locked and was let in by a drunken guest. The hotel was tired, smelt of damp certainly not what i expected from a 5 star hotel, the room was the same. I immediately checked out and moved hotels. The hotel wouldnt refund me :(
