Good location and clean rooms. Food options could improve.

The rooms were spacious and clean. The location is very near to beach.

We had limited options for food as we needed to order items atleast 3-4 hours prior.

Sanii Chetti makes delicious and sumptuous food. Make sure you bring one size larger clothing because you will end up gaining some kilos

A fantastic 4 days!

Being close to the sea for swimming. Being with a kerelan family where nothing was too much trouble. Home cooking was great.

Great stay at Marari Xavier Homestay. Only one night but Sunitha is a good host with a fun sense of humour - happy to chat to you, in my case about cookery, since I love home cooking Indian style. Nice inclusive breakfast (we kept it simple to fruit, toast, jam, but egg and local savoury dishes are available too). There are lunch and dinner options and everything we ate or saw others eat was delish! Sunitha was really helpful by accommodating my request to watch food being cooked and note recipes, and she went to extra lengths to show prep and explain what to do. The homestay is about 20m from the beach, which we had to ourselves for swims. Didnt experience any tricky currents; saw someone litter cleaning the beach in the morning so its probably cleaner than many Indian beaches. Didnt leave the area but saw others getting tuk tuk into Allepey for a morning out. I think theres four rooms, the upper three share a nice wood balcony and palm-tree backdrop with glimpses of the beach. Would recommend staying!

This homestay was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Right on a lovely beach where we could watch the fishermen come and go. We loved how peaceful it was and how clean the beach and area were. The hosts gave us great suggestions for a meal out, which was about 10minutes away and beachfront. We also enjoyed the meals we had at the homestay, particularly the Kerala style breakfasts. This homestay is so well cared for and the hosts are a really kind and generous family. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to others.
