Your journey through “God’s Own Country” begins upon arrival at Cochin Airport or Railway Station. You’ll be greeted by our representative and transferred to Munnar, a picturesque hill station located approximately 130 km away, which takes about 3.5 hours by road. En route, enjoy the stunning views of lush greenery, beautiful streams, small waterfalls, and vast stretches of rubber, pepper, cardamom, and tea plantations, all surrounded by thick forests. The drive is a scenic introduction to Kerala’s unmatched natural beauty. Upon arrival in Munnar, check in to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Munnar. On the way, you will also witness the majestic Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls, two of the most scenic falls in the region.
After breakfast, head out for a full day of sightseeing around Munnar. You’ll explore mist-kissed meadows, lush tea gardens, and rolling hills that seem to be wrapped in a green carpet. Begin with a visit to Mattupetty Lake and Dam, a serene picnic spot surrounded by tea plantations. Continue to the Munnar Tea Museum and Factory, where you’ll learn about tea processing (entry ₹75 per person; closed on Mondays). Spend time at Blossom Park, a peaceful garden filled with vibrant flowers and shady trees. You can also opt for an elephant ride, which is a popular experience in Munnar (costing ₹100 to ₹450 per person). Later, visit Eravikulam National Park (Rajamalai), home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and the famous Atlas Moth. This 97 sq. km. park showcases a diverse range of flora and fauna, with entry fees around ₹60 per person. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Munnar.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and proceed to Thekkady, a town known for its rich wildlife and spice plantations. Upon arrival, head to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the best places in India to spot elephants, wild boars, and more during a scenic boat ride on the lake (boating fee ₹150 per person). Later, visit a spice plantation where you can explore the cultivation of various spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and pepper (entry ₹100 per person). In the evening, enjoy an optional Kathakali dance performance, a vibrant classical dance-drama unique to Kerala (entry ₹200 per person), followed by a Kalaripayattu martial arts show (entry ₹200 per person). For those seeking adventure, a jungle jeep safari to the remote forest region of Gavi is highly recommended (approx. ₹1500 per person with food). You can also unwind with an authentic Ayurvedic massage in Thekkady, with packages starting at ₹1500 per person. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and travel to Alleppey or Kumarakom. By 12:30 PM, board your private houseboat and begin an unforgettable journey through the tranquil backwaters of Kerala. As you cruise along the narrow canals lined with coconut trees and paddy fields, enjoy a peaceful day surrounded by nature. Lunch, evening tea with snacks, and dinner will be served on board, all while you relax on the sundeck or in your cabin. The night spent on the houseboat is a truly serene and magical experience, away from city life and surrounded only by the sound of water and nature. Overnight stay in the houseboat.
After breakfast on the houseboat, disembark and proceed to Cochin for your departure. Depending on your flight or train schedule, enjoy sightseeing in Cochin. In Cochin, explore the Jewish Synagogue (open 9:00 AM–12:00 PM & 3:00 PM–5:00 PM, closed on Fridays and Saturdays), Dutch Palace (open 10:00 AM–5:00 PM, closed on Fridays), and the historic St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India and the original resting place of Vasco da Gama. Don’t miss the iconic Chinese fishing nets, which are an enduring symbol of Kochi’s rich colonial history. Later, you’ll be transferred to Cochin Airport or Railway Station with beautiful memories of Kerala’s landscapes, culture, and hospitality.
