Passable

Sadly, would not return. My preference rather than any grave fault. Someone else may love it.

Attractive in the picture, some kind and friendly staff, quirky and eclectic decor

Scary clown ceramics, too many rooms squeezed into space, tea lounge shut, restaurant shut due to private function later, though they did say I could order anyway, so that was nice of them

A idiosyncratic , friendly , hotel in East London. Check room layout if booking twin.

Staff were welcoming and very accommodating with an early check in. The hotel is close to Limehouse Basin ( marina) and really easy access to central London on DLR. Bus 15 to Trafalgar Square stops close by - though DLR is quicker than any road journey. We are both originally from London but enjoyed exploring this area which was not familiar to us. The building has been converted from an old Public Library. the public areas and reading area mezzanine are lovely. Personally, we were not great fans of the toys , nic nacs, ornaments which are cluttered about ( but friend is interior designer:) but each to their own, would have rather just seen books or maybe literary artefacts. Overall it's a nice, different experience to staying in a chain hotel.

Overall rating would have been 8.5 or 9 except - As two friends we booked a twin room , which was right up in the eaves. So this comment does not apply to any other room. The room was clean, bright and reasonably well appointed BUT the second twin bed is in a recess , you literally need to crawl into it, so on that basis I would not rate it very high at all for comfort. You could not turn the lamp off from bed so need to crawl to edge to do that. A child might enjoy it but it is not really appropriate for 2 adults. So advice would be check when booking a twin if this is the room layout.

Staff was lost all the time, friendly though, but it seems they work too short to understamd how to operate in timelly manner. It was quite difficult to order a food (they do not provide good inhouse)

Picture perfect.

Really liked the distinctive and colourful design of the hotel. Every room and corridor was worth exploring and taking a photo of. The staff were so friendly and polite too, even showing us to our room and telling us about the hotel which was unique from everywhere Ive stayed. The breakfast itself was worth the stay alone. Easily the best Ive had. There was just so much choice and the breakfast area looked amazing. The whole place smelled very nice as well.

Overall it was pretty much perfect.

A repeat visit to what is rapidly becoming my favourite hotel in London

My second visit to this great hotel. The single rooms are small, but clean and with all amenities needed for a great stay, with unique and interesting decor. Importantly, having such small rooms no doubt helps keep costs down. The decor in the common areas is beautiful, and I love the perfume incense in the air. Staff are courteous and helpful.

Unique hotel experience

Fantastic themed hotel. Staff were welcoming and attentive. A real experience, unique hotel, decor offers a nod to the buildings history with real attention to detail. Delicious breakfast and relaxing and clean spa facilities.

Cannot think of anything. It's a wonderful hotel.

Very good

Wonderfully quirky hotel - with very spacious comfortable rooms / beds and friendly staff.

Breakfast buffet looked expansive - didn't actually eat breakfast. Would recommend having some Ala carte options - didn't want full buffet at 20. Would have had toast / cereals and coffee if a lower cost option.

16.25 for a short Negroni was outrageous! Don't order a Negroni or maybe any other cocktail - unless you expect to pay those prices.
