It was an exceptional and memorable stay

I thought the breakfast was exceptional. The variety was great and the service was wonderful. I loved the serenity of the rooms and the property as a whole. The Omani/local touch made it even more special :) ps. I appreciated the early check in as 3 PM is a late check in time.

I didn't like that I wasn't told that Brezza is busy and that I should book in advance to get a table for dinner.

Stay was fantastic. The food not really.

Breakfast is very mediocre. The food is usually a repeat, and there are not many options. The only good thing is the omelette station. Everything else is stale and low-quality food.

Not many breakfast options. We stayed there for a week, and the only thing that kept us going during breakfast was the freshly made "karak" and the live egg station. All the other food options were repeats and were not fresh. During dinner, it was the same routine, not many options, and the sushi was like it was out of an old can. The pasta station for dinner was a relief! There was an Indian theme night the week we were staying, which was wonderful, but apart from that, there was nothing outstanding with the food option.

Great stay

Our room was clean and the service was great, including the housekeeping and turndown. Little touches like making sure theres water etc. Toiletries are well stocked, including a razor and shaving cream. The beach set up is great and the staff are super attentive, with a huge menu to choose from. The sand and water are very clean and so are all the facilities. The spa is also fantastic, the therapists are skilled and the heated table was super relaxing (no jacuzzi but theres a steam room and sauna). The spa robes are so soft, and all the products smell amazing. Food and drinks in the restaurants are lovely though overpriced. F&B staff were absolutely great.

The concierge service ended up causing us some trouble. We asked about withdrawing cash and were told to stop at a mall on our way out in a taxi. Turned out that we could do a cash back 2 meters away at the concierge desk with a 5% surcharge. It would have been nice to be offered this option, instead of taking a unnecessary detour that cost way more. We also asked about visiting the souq and mosque, but werent told that visiting hours at the mosque were only from 8AM to 11AM. Only found out after reaching souq Matrah because our taxi driver told us, which meant that we ended up going to the mosque the next day. Not only did this cost us 30 Omani riyals because we specifically went into town for this visit, but it was the same day we were leaving Oman so we did the same trip twice in a single day (because the mosque is next to the airport). Generally a good concierge would advise on these details and make the stay easier, instead of costing the visitor 350 qatari riyals for no reason. That being said some of the concierge staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, but at a hotel of this calibre it shouldnt be a coin toss. All staff were courteous and attentive.
