A special mention goes to Yogesh Thapa Ji, our driver, who was extremely cooperative, punctual, and professional throughout the journey. He ensured that we covered all the sightseeing spots comfortably and safely. Beyond being an excellent driver, he is a genuinely kind and friendly person who made our trip even more enjoyable with his helpful nature and local insights.

**TOTAL FAILURE IN HOSPITALITY: A Masterclass in Ruining a Vacation**
I was incredibly excited for this family trip to Sikkim, but Wooden Orchid Tourism managed to ruin the entire experience from day (Read More)one (booked by Subhankar Das). The sheer lack of professional management was glaring. Our coordinator, Samprikta, was aggressively unhelpful. She kept us in the dark until the last possible second and completely failed at basic trip briefing. She omitted the crucial detail that Voter IDs were mandatory for permits, leaving us to figure it out ourselves. When my brother called her out on this massive logistical failure, she had the audacity to lie, deflect, and blame us instead of taking ownership for her mistake.
The accommodation at Hotel Oak Ridge in Gangtok was honestly atrocious. We were pushed into dingy, foul-smelling basement rooms with dead electricity and broken toilets. It was completely unacceptable. The staff there clearly have no concept of hospitality—they argued with us over the basic amenities we had already paid for. At dinner, they served terrible food and refused to provide safe bottled water, handing us tap water instead. With local shops shut, we were forced to go to sleep thirsty.
When we demanded accountability from Samprikta, her ego took over. She eventually moved us to slightly different rooms (which still had plumbing issues), but acted like she was doing us the ultimate favor. She actually expected us to be "thankful" that she didn't just ignore our calls. She showed zero professionalism and zero empathy for the fact that she was ruining our trip.
To make matters worse, they couldn't even coordinate with their own ground staff. Our driver was incredibly kind and helpful, but the agency left him totally stranded without an itinerary or a place to sleep, forcing him to manage entirely on his own.
Do not book with Wooden Orchid Tourism, stay far away from Hotel Oak Ridge, and avoid Samprikta. They are entirely incompetent and will turn your vacation into a logistical nightmare.

But Overall experience didn’t meet my expectations.
