My Experience with Thrillophilia: A Stressful and Disorganised Journey
To begin with, Thrillophilia is not a travel company in the traditional sense—they act as intermediaries who curate itineraries ( (Read More)often pre-packaged) and pass them on to various local agents across different countries. While they claim to offer customisation, our experience proved otherwise. When we requested changes to suit our group’s needs, they were simply unable to understand although we made them deliver .
Dealing with Thrillophilia meant navigating through multiple people and departments for a single travel plan, with absolutely no coordination among them. Blaming each other for every mistake became a recurring pattern, and accountability was nowhere to be found.
We were a group of eight travellers, booked on four different PNRs. As the lead traveller, I began planning in October 2025 for our February 2026 trip. It took nearly three months of relentless follow-ups to get things in order—most of which I had to manage myself. While the itinerary was built around our preferences, Thrillophilia was only responsible for bookings, transfers, and accommodations. For a company that boasts of serving thousands of customers, this should not have been a challenge.
Unfortunately, they fell short at every step.
They initially promised free visa assistance as part of a package worth over ₹3 lakhs, but later backtracked on their word. We ended up handling the visas ourselves—which was fine—but the lack of transparency was disappointing. Worse, they failed to provide us with confirmed vouchers by the mutually agreed date and went completely silent. As they are not based in Mumbai, this added to our anxiety. Whenever they didn’t have answers, they simply vanished—no responses to calls or emails. After days of desperate attempts, if we did manage to reach someone, they had no clue about our situation.
To make matters worse, their automated system kept sending payment reminders and threats of trip cancellation, even after we had cleared the full amount. The communication blackout was terrifying, especially for a group that had collectively paid a significant sum. At one point, we even had to warn them of involving the authorities just to get a response.
Our trip briefing (about the requirements on the trip)was supposed to be done a week prior our travel date instead we got a call for the same just 24hours defeating it’s entire purpose. My phone number as the lead traveller was the last one to be registered .It only happens after the completion of more than 50% of my trip leaving me with no direct contact .These issues are totally uncalled for …
Their top management proved to be no better. One particular individual, Tathagata Datta, showed a complete lack of responsibility and failed to honour any commitment. Despite multiple messages and pleas for resolution, he remained unresponsive and unhelpful.
Although we eventually managed to get things sorted, the three months of mental stress leading up to the trip was completely unnecessary. Thrillophilia claims to be responsible for the entire travel experience, but when flight schedules changed—something beyond our control—they refused to accommodate even minor adjustments. For instance, as the lead traveller, I was denied a drop to the airport because my flight timing had changed, despite the fact that we had coordinated our arrival and departure times to avoid inconveniencing them.
Even though our check-ins and check-outs in Finland and Norway went smoothly, the memory of the chaos and disorganisation leading up to the trip is hard to forget. We will always associate this journey with stress, confusion, and frustration—emotions no traveller should have to endure.
In hindsight, we would have been better off planning the trip ourselves. Thrillophilia adds no real value; instead, they drain your time, energy, and peace of mind. They are unprofessional, unreliable, and completely undeserving of your trust or money.
Not worth it. If you value your sanity, book your travel independently or go for other travel company
