Our driver in Bali was honestly one of the highlights of the trip! He was extremely sweet, punctual, and never once made us wait. Our check-in at the hotel was denied on the very day we reached Hanle, Ladakh.
We immediately contacted the POC from The Holidays Crowd team and shared our location. Later, we were informed that our (Read More)booking had been “bounced” and that they were trying to figure out how this could have happened.
Meanwhile, we were literally standing beside the road in -1°C, waiting for them to “check” what had happened. Instead of immediately accepting the lapse from their end and arranging another relevant stay for us, we were left waiting in the freezing cold with no proper solution.
When we asked to speak to the manager or the concerned person whose approval was required to initiate the refund or even take an alternate decision, we were repeatedly given random names without any clarity.
When we asked for the person’s full name and designation, the response from their representative was sarcastic and extremely unprofessional:
“mera aadhar card, pan card address bhi lelo aap, par kya kar loge.”
Mind you, this was being said to a woman from our group who was simply asking for basic accountability and the name/designation of the person handling our case.
And this was not even the end of it.
We had booked 4 rooms under the Premium Cottage category, but instead of what was promised, we were given only 3 rooms in an under-construction property.
Imagine reaching Hanle after travelling all the way to Ladakh, in freezing temperatures, only to discover that the stay you had paid for was unavailable and the alternative being offered was not even remotely equivalent to what you had booked.
Travel plans can have unexpected issues, but what matters is how a travel company handles those issues. Here, the biggest disappointment was not just the booking failure, but the lack of accountability, communication and basic professionalism when we needed help the most.
Think twice before trusting them with your stay, especially for remote destinations like Ladakh where finding a last-minute alternative is not as simple as it is in a city.
