I am giving 3/5 stars to 30 Sundays, and this review is intended as constructive feedback for both future travellers and the management team.
It is based on purely comparative as I had travel to Jamm (Read More)u-Kashmir, Kerala-kanyakumari, Andaman, Bali, Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, Nepal, Vietnam, Philippines & many more through flynote and Flamingo traveller. All were awesome in comparison to planning, coordination and expertise come in picture. I choose 30 Sundays for Thailand trip as other were not marketing themselves as so expert as they are.
The primary reason people choose a travel planner instead of booking flights, hotels, and activities themselves through platforms like MakeMyTrip or Klook is the expectation of destination expertise, smooth coordination, thoughtful planning, and personalized care. Otherwise, self-booking is often cheaper and more flexible.
Unfortunately, my experience did not justify the value of using a travel planner. Before payment, the team was proactive, attentive, and highly responsive. However, after full payment was completed, the level of concern towards customer experience noticeably reduced.
If I see the google reviews, then, I come to know, most of the 5 rated reviews are from local guides only & owner also reply them only who gave them 5 rating. On other hand, most of traveller who are not a local guide, give them 1 or 2 or 3 only. Owner even doesn't reply to those review. That is showing top management focus area (purely marketing, not providing service).
We had clearly informed them from the beginning that we were a family group with a child and that one additional family member would confirm later. Despite this, room planning was poorly handled — rooms were often on different floors, different buildings, and one hotel in Krabi did not even have lift access.
Initially, we requested one larger room with an extra bed arrangement, but were told it was not possible. Later, they booked one large room and one smaller room, where eventually the larger room itself could easily accommodate all four of us. One room practically went unused, leading to unnecessary cost. This is where practical travel expertise was expected but missing.
Coordination throughout the trip was also disappointing. Different coordinators kept changing, and every new person seemed unaware of previous discussions, forcing us to repeatedly explain the same requirements, itinerary details, and concerns. Even during travel days, vouchers, activity timings, and pickup clarity were still unresolved.
One major concern was vegetarian food assurance. Despite repeatedly informing them that we were travelling with a child and required reliable vegetarian food options, the actual experience was extremely poor at places like Racha Island and Fantasea. Some days, we survived on pizza and fries only. A professional travel planner handling Indian families should already know the ground reality and proactively suggest alternatives if food quality is poor.
Important thing, please take everything in writing before make payment. Even you want to stop car for peeing or shitting in mid way, please must be written in paper. Otherwise, they will literally refused that it is not included in the package. Due to change in coordinators, take just playing games that it is not included, that is not included. And after payment only, they will start changing coordinator make kiosk. So please make smallest fact also in black and white OR record the voice of all the communications other wise issue will face.
The two positive aspect were one is their overseas partner, Lark Holidays, whose guides, vehicles, boats, and on-ground professionalism were genuinely good. The 2 stars are mainly for them (if question is give rating to oversea partner then it will be 5 out).
Another to Sneha and Gungun from 30Sundays whose understanding, client handling and troubleshooting skill are very good and impressive (one star to these two ladies)
I genuinely hope the management takes this feedback constructively.
