Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi - Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Upon arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or from your hotel in the city, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your safari guide who will assist with your transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the Laikipia region. The scenic drive takes approximately 3–4 hours and passes through the picturesque central Kenyan highlands. Upon arrival at Kicheche Laikipia Camp (or a similar lodge), check in and settle in for a two-night stay on a full-board basis. After a short briefing, you will head out for your first game drive in the conservancy. Later, return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the wild.
After a hearty breakfast, embark on a morning game drive to spot elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos. Ol Pejeta is particularly renowned for its rhino sanctuary, and today you will visit the Endangered Species Enclosure, home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos. In the afternoon, return to camp for lunch and relaxation. Later in the day, enjoy an evening game drive where you might encounter nocturnal wildlife as the sun dips below the horizon. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out of camp and drive approximately 4 hours north to the rugged beauty of Samburu National Reserve. Enjoy sweeping views as the landscape transitions from fertile highlands to the arid Samburu plains. Upon arrival at Samburu Sarova Lodge (or similar), check in and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, set out for a game drive in the reserve, which is home to the “Samburu Five” — the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. With dry riverbeds, acacia-dotted landscapes, and abundant wildlife, this is an ideal setting for game viewing and photography. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and rest.
Begin your day with an early morning game drive through the reserve, the best time to spot predators like lions and cheetahs, as well as large herds of elephants. Spend the afternoon at leisure back at the lodge, enjoying views of the surrounding wilderness or relaxing with a sundowner. Your day ends with dinner at the lodge and another peaceful night in Samburu.
After breakfast, enjoy a final morning at the lodge or opt for a short game drive before checking out. Begin your return journey to Nairobi, arriving in the early afternoon. You will be dropped at your hotel or the airport for your onward travel, marking the end of a memorable Kenyan safari adventure.
