Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu & Evening in Thamel

Your adventure begins upon arrival in Kathmandu at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). You’ll be greeted by our friendly team holding a sign with your name. A traditional Khada welcome sets the tone for your journey ahead.
After your warm welcome, you'll be transferred to your hotel where everything is arranged as per your preference. Once you check in, take time to relax and freshen up.
In the evening, head out to explore the lively Thamel area. This buzzing neighbourhood is full of energy and a great introduction to Kathmandu. Wander through handcraft stores, boutique clothing shops, and a vibrant mix of restaurants, bars, and cafes. Whether you're looking to soak in the local culture or enjoy a bit of nightlife, Thamel offers the perfect blend of traditional and modern Nepal.
Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Optional: Early Morning Mountain Flight
Your day starts with a hearty breakfast, followed by an immersive sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley. If you opt for the early morning mountain flight, prepare for a breathtaking experience as you soar over the mighty Himalayas, including the majestic Mt. Everest. This one-hour scenic flight offers spectacular views of the world’s highest peaks and is often described as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Once back, begin your cultural journey at Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), a revered Buddhist pilgrimage site offering panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley.
Next, choose between two historic landmarks:

  • Kathmandu Durbar Square: A UNESCO World Heritage Site brimming with ancient palaces, temples, and courtyards. Stroll through the bustling markets and experience the living history of Nepal.
  • OR
  • Patan Durbar Square: Another UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its stone temples and fine art. Highlights include Krishna Mandir and the Patan Museum, a rich archive of traditional artifacts.

Continue to Pashupatinath Temple, one of Nepal’s holiest Hindu temples. Witness sacred rituals and cremation ceremonies along the Bagmati River—a deeply spiritual and culturally significant site.
Your final stop for the day is Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in South Asia. With its serene ambiance and surrounding Tibetan cafes, it’s the perfect place to relax and soak in the energy of this sacred space.Return to your hotel by evening. Unwind with local or international cuisine at your leisure.
Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Optional: Hike or Bhaktapur Durbar Square Tour
Start your day early with a scenic drive to Nagarkot, a hill station known for its mesmerizing sunrise views. Watch as the first rays of sunlight bathe the snow-covered peaks in golden hues—an unforgettable Himalayan panorama. After the sunrise, enjoy a hearty breakfast with local flavours and panoramic views before heading out for the day’s adventure.
From here, you can choose between:

  • Hike to Changunarayan Temple: A tranquil trail through forested paths and countryside villages. The hike ends at one of the oldest Hindu temples in the valley, adorned with intricate stone carvings and centuries of history.
  • OR
  • Tour Bhaktapur Durbar Square: Explore the beautifully preserved medieval architecture of this UNESCO site. Admire the 55-Window Palace, Nyatapole Temple, and soak in the rich cultural vibe of Bhaktapur.

Return to your hotel for some well-earned rest. If you're up for it, enjoy one last night in Thamel with dinner, shopping, or live music to wrap up your Kathmandu journey.

They were unable to provide us with transportation as they already had prior boo (Read More)kings, so we had to arrange transport through other sources. The resort and hotels were good; however, at the time of booking, they had mentioned that the property in Pokhara would have a swimming pool. In reality, there was no swimming pool, and it was not even a resort but actually a hotel. Nevertheless, the overall stay arrangement was satisfactory.
Except for Siddhartha Riverside, the food at all other hotels and resorts in Nep (Read More)al was not good. They did not even have the basic courtesy to provide drinking water in the room. At the time of check-in, two bottles of water were provided, but the next morning when we asked for a refill, they said refills are only done after 12:00 PM. If we needed water before that, we had to purchase it ourselves. We have traveled extensively around the world, but we have never experienced such dry and unaccommodating behavior anywhere. Refilling drinking water is a very basic courtesy that hotels and resorts should provide.

I had an amazing experience with Holyland Adventure Tours and Travels during my (Read More)7 days / 6 nights trip to Nepal. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. The itinerary covered beautiful places including Kathmandu temples, Chandragiri Hill, Bhaktapur, Nagarkot (sunrise & sunset), Pokhara, and adventure activities like paragliding and ziplining, along with the Sarangkot sunrise. Every destination was well planned and executed smoothly. Hotels, transportation, and overall arrangements were excellent. A special thanks to Arith, the manager and tour organizer, who was extremely supportive and took care of every detail. Even after the trip ended, he personally followed up to ensure we reached safely, which truly shows their professionalism and care. Our guide Bijay, appointed by Holyland, was outstanding—very friendly, knowledgeable, supportive, and an excellent driver, especially on hill routes. He made the journey comfortable and enjoyable throughout. Overall, the trip was stress-free, memorable, and perfectly managed. I highly recommend Holyland Adventure Tours and Travels to anyone planning to visit Nepal. Truly a trustworthy and professional travel company!
