Timor Lest is gifted with options for thrill seekers, in the Ainaro region lies the country's highest mountain peak Mt. Ramelau which offers world class trekking experience. The trek from bottom to top takes around six hours and is accompanied by amazing views. The climb to the top is fairly easy, and almost halfway through the trek, hikers can find the statue of Virgin Mary, one of the famous religious icons of the country. The region is also home to some exotic bird species that are unique to Timor.
