Venetian Castle of Skopelos, Skopelos Overview
The Venetian Fortress or the Kastro of Skopelos is located in the ancient village of Peparithos, right near the port. It is a 13th-century fortress renovated by the Venetians. Only the walls of the fortress remain now. The fortress can be accessed through the steps near Panagitsa tou Purgou at the end of the port, and it is visible from all directions. The view from the top to the port, the sea and the nearby islands is breathtaking. There are no restaurants or cafes at the top, and it is not wheelchair accessible.
