Windmill in Rhodes, Rhodes Island Overview

The landmark cylindrical structures at the Mandraki harbour are one of the finest examples of medieval Greek technology. The windmill of Rhodes was originally built in the medieval period for grinding grains from merchant ships across countries. It is now an important archaeological site. While there were about 13-14 windmills earlier, only three remain. It has become a good site for walking, especially at sunrise.

It is located on Mandraki Harbour’s breakwater jetty on Rhodes island. It highlights the elements of the futuristic engineering of medieval Greece. It is also a famous spot to watch the sea for couples due to its secluded nature. The picturesque nature of this place is what makes it so popular.
