Rakab Forest, Purulia Overview

Maharaja of Keshargarh is known to have fought the British rule bravely and looted the Purulia treasury. The Rakab forest used to be the hunting place of Kashipur and is popular known as the forest of 16 cross.

The Maharaja was hung to death here, the fort is till here in a dying condition, a brave witness of the rich past of the district.
