A Roman temple made in honor of Augustus, the first Roman Emperor is one of the most visited monuments across Pula.
A visit to Pula without exploring the Temple of Augustus would be incomplete. As one of the oldest and the most complete Roman monuments, the Temple of Augustus is a testament to one of the most iconic designs of Roman architecture. The temple was converted to a church under the Byzantine rule and later saw the wrath of war when it was nearly brought to pieces. The reconstructed temple now holds Roman sculpture and scriptures, making it a must visit when in Pula.
