La Fortaleza is one of the best administrative forts in Puerto Rico and is also a must-visit for someone who wants to see the evolving culture of Puerto Rico. Built-in 1540 as a defence, this place is now renovated and converted to the governor's house. A visit to the mansion is not permitted, except for the guided tours available on the weekdays.
