Tien Son Cave, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park Overview
Located around over 1 Km away from Phong Nha Cave, Tien Son Cave is a dry cave located at an altitude of 200m. It is also known as the 'Fairy Cave' because of many stalactites and stalagmites shaped in the form of fairy tales. What is unique about this cave is the resonation of sound within the cave. Loud sounds can resonate as gongs or drumbeats from within the earth itself. From the entrance around 400 metres is traversable while the rest is off-limits for safety reasons.
The caves inside were used as Hindu Sanctuaries in 9th and 10th century and the remains can be seen even today. It also served as the hospital and medical centre during the Vietnam War.
