Archaeological Museum of Nafplio, Nafplio Overview

The Archaeological Museum of Nafplio displays artefacts and exhibits showcasing the history and archaeology of the region. It is housed in a building that was once the barracks of the Palamidi Fortress. Interesting artefacts from the War of Independence, like weapons used by the Greek revolutionaries, can also be spotted here.

Prehistoric exhibits have collections from the bronze age, Classical and Hellenistic exhibits hold artefacts like statues and pottery, Roman collections display Romanian mosaics, and Byzantine exhibits have collections of manuscripts and icons.
