Mirik Lake

Mirik Lake, also called the Sumendu Lake, is nestled in the serene hills of Mirik in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal. It is a picturesque natural water body that serves as a popular tourist destination. Also known as Sumendu Lake, it is surrounded by lush green forests and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, making it a tranquil retreat for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts alike.

Spread over an area of about 1.25 square kilometers, Mirik Lake is surrounded by a well-maintained walking path, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy leisurely strolls along the water's edge while soaking in the scenic beauty of the surroundings.  The lake also has an 80 foot bridge running over it for people who don't wish to walk around it.

Boating is one of the main attractions at Mirik Lake, with pedal boats and rowing boats available for hire, allowing visitors to explore the lake at their own pace. The tranquil waters of the lake, coupled with the cool mountain breeze and panoramic views, create the perfect setting for a relaxing boat ride.
