Ancient Theatre of Lindos, Lindos Overview

Situated on the western part of the Lindos Acropolis, the ancient theatre built in the 4th BC of Lindos is a classic landmark with two different arenas. The theatre has a seating capacity of 1,800 spectators and is popular for hosting classic city festivals that include musical, athletic and theatre performances by notable artists to honour Sminthia and Dionysos.

The spectators' arena was known as cavea or koilion, stage and circular orchestra on the rocky terrain make a single theatre. The cavea or the spectators' arena has 19 rows split into 8 small stairways.
