Bait Al Sadu, was formerly a traditional Kuwaiti house, located right next to the National Museum, on Gulf Road. It now stands as an interesting museum that exhibits Bedouin style of weaving, Sadu weaving. The Al Sadu Society was established to preserve these Bedouin crafts from extinction. The rooms in the museum are an insight into the traditional weaving technique and its history.The Sadu weaves lay emphasis the nomadic lifestyle of the Bedouins and incorporate aesthetic symmetry. You will be able to see the fine metal work and embroidery used to embellish the outfits, and even the traditional looms that wove magic. The museum is accompanied by a souvenior store that sells wall hangings, bags, rugs, home decor items etc, proceeds of which go to the local weavers.
