Lord Thirukuttralanathar, Kutralam Overview
An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Thirukuttralanathar, a form of Lord Shiva is one of the prime places of worship in the region. The inscriptions that are adorned by the temple bring forward the fact that the temple dates back to Pandya and Chola Kingdoms.
The temple is surrounded by splendid picturesque views of Rocky Mountains and rivers along with a famous waterfall, Shivamathungai. The temple is operated and maintained by Devasthanam Temple. A small temple called Chitra Sabha meaning hall of pictures also serves as a prime attraction of the area. It is dedicated to Lord Nataraja and features intricate carvings of rural deities, various religious episodes and other puranic stories.
