St Mary's Church, Kumarakom Overview
St. Mary's Church, Cheriapally was built in 1579. It belongs to Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church and is one of the oldest orthodox churches in the country. The Metropolitans of the church belonged to 3 families in the region. The beautiful structure is an amalgamation of Kerala and Persian style of architecture that has been preserved very well.
