Sri Kukkuteshwara Swamy Temple is one of the oldest shrines in Andhra Pradesh that attracts pilgrims from all over the country. It is around 12 km from Uppada Beach. Uppada village is famous for weaving and also known as the fisherman’s village.

One can buy fresh seafood as well as other sea products such as conch, jewellery made up of sea products etc. But the unique product in the region is found in Uppada village that is Uppada Pottu Sarees that are hand-woven by the villagers themselves. Considered as among one of the most expensive sarees in the world, these are appreciated worldwide and are produced using the old Jamdani weaving method.

The climate in Kakinada is generally considered to be hot and humid with the temperature during the summers ranging within a maximum of 42 degree Celsius to a minimum of 38 degree Celsius between May-July. The monsoon season of July-September receives average rainfall. The winters which begin in November and ends in February witnessed a pleasant temperature ranging from a 20 degree Celsius to 18 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to visit this beach is during the winters from November to February.

The nearest and well-connected railway station to the Uppada Beach is located in Kakinada, at a distance of 22 km. The Kakinada Railway Station offers easy accessibility through public transport as well as rental cabs till the destination. If one intends to travel to Uppada by road, the ideal way would be to travel from Kakinada town which is at a distance of 18.3 km from this beach via the Kakinada-Uppada Beach Road. Cabs, buses and autos are readily available from the town centre, which is well connected to the nearby major cities.
