A beautiful town named Govindghat is situated on the way to Badrinath at the point where the Alaknanda River meets the Lakshman Ganga in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Trekking
Out of the numerous treks which take place in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, Govindghat is the starting point of many of them. The trek of the famous Valley of Flowers also begins from Ghangaria which can be reached from Govindghat. The religious pilgrimage of Hemkund Sahib too begins from Govindghat.

The holy shrine of Badrinath temple is situated just 25 km away from Govindghat. Also, the pilgrimage to the revered Sikh shrine of Hemkund Sahib at an elevation of 4600 meters which is covered on foot goes through Govindghat. Thousands of devotees become a part of this journey.

Ghangharia
This is like the last place where humans reside on your way to Hemkund Sahib. It is a beautiful settlement which is the base for the trek to the Valley of Flowers. The picturesque beauty of the place along with the cool breeze makes it a perfect summer getaway.

Pushpawati and Hemganga Rivers
These rivers meet at the Lakshman Ganga. In case you are planning a trip to Govindghat, then Valley of Flowers should be on your list. Badrinath Temple

Situated near Govindghat, this place is a tourist spot which is a must-visit for all the nature lovers. A 400-feet waterfall named Vasudhara Falls is situated here which is believed to have some spiritual powers. After trekking for about 5 km from Govindghat you are likely to reach these falls.

Best Time To Visit Govindghat

The perfect time to visit Govindghat is the summer and monsoon season. Avoid the winter season as the place becomes inaccessible due to heavy snowfall. The summer season lasts between April and June which are moderately hot along with a cool soothing breeze. The monsoon season falls in the moth of mid-June and lasts till September end. The temperature is pleasant at this time, and you can also go trekking during this time.
