"One of Spiti's Most Popular Destinations"

Langza, Himachal Pradesh Overview

Langza village is located 4400 metres above sea level in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The scenic landscape of the Spiti Valley attracts tourists to the village during the summer, with the green pastures surrounded by snow capped mountains of the Himalayas. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Spiti valley region.

The most notable attraction of the village is the giant Buddha statue which overlooks the valley. The locals believe that the statue protects the village and its inhabitants from the harsh climate and other perils of the region. The village is also home to a Buddhist monastery, which is located behind the statue and is over 500 years old.

Numerous geologists have speculated that the valley was submerged in prehistoric times, leading to a large number of fossils in the region over the years. As a result, tourists can also enjoy purchasing fossilized rocks of marine life and plants.

Tourists in the region can learn about the local culture, with many of the families offering homestay facilities. Those looking to enjoy the peace and quiet of the valley can do so here, with the picturesque surroundings making it an ideal location for those with a knack for photography.
