Aspire Park, Doha Overview

With over 80 hectares to its name, the Aspire Park is the largest in the city. Khalifa Stadium, Al-Bayt Stadium(under Construction), Hamad Aquatic Center and the Aspire Zone which houses the Aspire Academy and one of the best indoor multi-purpose halls in the world are also worth visiting. The Aspire Zone is considered to be one of the landmark destinations for any kind of sports events rising into prominence after the 2006 Asian Games and is expected to be an important feature in the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Aspire Zone is also home to one of Qatar’s tallest structures, the Torch Tower and to Doha’s only lake, where ducks, geese and birds flock to get away from the desert heat. The park hosts many events and festivals throughout the year, mostly marathons and health/fitness related activities.

Tips and Rules

  • Dress decently as Qatar follows Islamic conventions, covering shoulders, knees and midriffs. 
  • Free Wi-Fi is available through out the area.
  • Pets, barbeques, hookahs, swimming in the lake, cricket, kite flying are strictly not allowed.
  • Provisions for differently abled people are available like ramps and wheelchair access.
  • Cycling, skateboarding, and climbing trees are not allowed however chidren until the age of 10 can ride cycles and skateboard.
  • Public restrooms and all kinds of help are available at nearby distances.
  • Avoid visiting in the afternoon as it can get really hot and humid.

You can hire taxis that will take you directly by using the government’s taxi service or opt for public transport. Uber is also available.
