Close to Amenities
We stayed in a room facing the side street and near the corner. The hotel was across from the railway station and a short walk to the shops. The bed was comfortable but pillows could of been a little firmer. The bar was a great place to meet people from around Australia and overseas.

Chic inside, meets rough outside but reasonable and comfortable at the same time.
The room has lovely touches, the carpet, roof and bathroom accents all add something. The bed is comfortable, but Im finding I dont sleep well with hotel pillows very well (need memory foam over feather). I suppose I would have loved a window that opens, but you understand why it doesnt. The hotel is decorated in a chic way, would score points for an older generation (and these were the most type of guests I met in the elevator on several occasions).
Sometimes you just miss old fashioned soap. Boutique lotions in the bathroom are fastened to the wall, with the pumps squirting anywhere but into my hand, got on my nerves pretty quickly.
The hotel is across from Southern Cross Station, which is both convenient but grungy. Theres a Woolworths Metro and BWS nearby, and the SkyBus but you might also have to step over someone sleeping on the pavement to get there.

Very pleasant stay in the heart of Melbourne city.
Location was perfect for exploring Melbourne city. The room was very comfortable and had nice decor. Spotlessly clean. This hotel has real charm and character and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. There was a very good iron and full size ironing board
Only one issue, the shower head was small and difficult to adjust.
