A terrific experience with all the amenities and service one can expect from a luxury Indian hotel
The hotel is in a great location, on the Lake. The staff were all terrific. The check in process was smooth, and the rooms were luxurious. We had lunch and complementary breakfast in the dining hall, and it did not disappoint. The range of food offerings was terrific. Moreover, the staff were very accommodating. Despite these being buffet meals, the staff were readily available and showed keenness to serve us a wide variety of items. We were assigned a personal assistant, who was friendly and flexible, and gave us a great tour of the entire "palace". We had a special dinner at the Sheesh Mahal, the offerings and quality of the food was par excellent. The service was impeccable.

I may only make one suggestion regarding the dinner at Sheesh Mahal. It would be helpful to know in advance that the dinner options are either ala carte or a prix fixe menu. This could be mentioned on the hotel website or as a message to the guest prior to arrival. We were told about this late afternoon about this, and we did not have enough information to make a choice, and went with prix fixe.

Our favorite stay in India. Sad to leave. Great room and loved the views. Exceptional health club with expert trainers. Large pool. Many beautiful places to explore and just sit and take it in or read. Expensive but we thought worth the spend.

One of the best hotels we ever stayed at.
Dont know where to begin. Upon your arrival by boat, youre showered with flower petals and encounter the extremely helpful and kind staff for the first time. Througout our stay, they exceeded all our expectations by far and made our stay truly memorable - be it during check-in in the room, at breakfast/dinner or in the gym and at the pool. Once we shifted to the Taj Palace, they even arranged for a smooth transfer with their concierge. In hindsight, we should have stayed longer at The Leela Palace because value for money is unmatched!
