We were extremely pleased with the experience. Located in the nicest part of the CBD, no congestion, minimal hustle and bustle, very relaxing! Sumptuous breakfast with classy service and perfect ambience. Couldnt ask for better! Complimenting Champagne for our anniversary was highly appreciated!

This is NOT a criticism but a safety suggestion. Safety bars in the bath tub in room 410 for safe access in and out of it is highly recommended. There is a high risk of slipping or falling especially for the elderly but possible in any age group as the bath tub is very deep.

Fine for a short stay

Large room, good bathroom. Easy to get in and out of the room. When we asked for bowls at breakfast time reception was quick to bring them up.

The instructions for the wifi were wrong. The room was stuffy in hot weather with not enough of a way to cool down. When we called reception in afternoon for glasses they took a very long time to bring them up (over an hour).

We stayed in a junior suite this year which was great as my daughter was with us the separate bedroom gave us privacy and was comfortable. Location is great and high tea and breakfast exceptional

Additional charges in cricketers bar for public holiday are ridiculous. Cost $50 for 2 drinks with $6 surcharge - thats not cricket

Disappointing

After many visits and stays, it was disappointing to have to say never again.

We had several meals in the Crickters' Bar. It retains its older feel (which we liked) and on the whole the service was friendly and prompt. We had little todo with anyone else.

The beds were appalling. They seemed old- fashioned and the mattress and pillows far too soft for any comfort. The cleaners/room attendants didn't bother to restock the refrigerator, or supply milk and coffee unless upon request which entailed chasing them down the passage. The one we did speak to was friendly and co-operative. The receptionist I spoke to about the bed after night 1 was not interested -merely saying that "all the beds were the same, so changing rooms was pointless". Another receptionist had a frail voice which was exacerbated by wearing a mask. She also had an uneasy relationship with the English language.
