The varnishing and painting of the rooms nearby as the fumes went into our rooms and really toxic smell, which meant my daughter and grandchild had to move to another room further away from ours in the end, her husband had a severe skin reaction.. really not a good thing to have to experience whilst on holiday. Lots of broken glass on the beach opposite hotel, such a shame as its such a lovely beach. Paying for pool towels when going out for the day, I think putting a deposit on them is more acceptable than having to pay to loan them, Ive never had to do that before and dont really agree with it. - the property is spread over a big area, however, there is only ONE passenger Lift serving the entire hotel!! Be prepared to walk long long way to the hotel room from the restaurants, hotel lobby, swimming pool etc - housekeeping service isn't efficient, it takes long time to address any issues such glasses left uncleaned, replacing consumables (tea bags, etc) - the customer service quality of the front desk/ reception staff varies hugely. We had requested for late check-out on the last day of our stay, which was promptly agreed to by the staff checking us in (Bella). However, when we requested again for a late check-out on the evening (on 28 December around 7pm) before our departure, the Caucasian staff at the front desk totally refused our request, saying that the occupancy is 97% and there are guests checking into room nos. 395 and 396 on 29 Dec, after our departure, hence we should check-out by 12 noon on 29 Dec. This was hugely disappointing, considering that we had to spend close to 2 hours without a room and we had children with us - however, the front desk staff didn't accommodate our request. On the next day morning, on 29 Dec around 9.30am, we requested for a late check-out again - this time, the front desk staff was a local Thai staff. She promptly agreed to allow us to retain one room (no. 395) until our check-out at 1.30 pm and for us to release the other room no. 396. This clearly showed that the Caucasian staff wasn't truthful to us on 28 Dec when he said that there were guests coming into both room nos. 395 and 396 on 29 Dec. The management should counsel the Caucasian staff at the front desk to be more empathetic to late check-out requests and at least be truthful. - our room package included free access to tea/ drinks and food at the lounge opposite the front desk/ reception. Drinks are served only up to 7pm. We had to rush everyday to avail the drinks.
