We found Pantai to be a beautiful little property with an excellent location.

Staff were friendly and helpful (thank you Edwin!) and we could easy walk to lots of things in La Jolla. It is only another 5-10 mins further from the zoo than other properties I looked at, but glad we stayed in La Jolla at the Pantai.

Bedrooms were a bit tight, but I think they prioritised a big living room (with views!) in the layouts.

Great choice if you plan to visit La Jolla.

Great location, spacious ocean view room with adequate kitchenette. Complimentary sodas & water in lobby. Comfortable bed. Great patio, although room snd patio a bit exposed if youre on the ground floor with car and foot traffic. Ask for a room on the second floor if they have it.

Breakfast buffet was so, so. Adequate but nothing to get exited about. Most boutique hotels do better here. The staff were the big let down. No friendly smiles or greetings, the way you typically expect.

The best location you'll find - right by la jolla cove. Super friendly staff. They also gave us a dinner voucher for a complimentary Thanksgiving dinner.

Great location and facility is well laid out. Could use some updates but general great place to stay

The location by the beach, seals, park, oceans view and shopping is perfect! It's a very short walk to shops, food and to visit the seals. The complimentary breakfast is an actual breakfast and truly adds to the value. Additionally, they provide complimentary water and cola any time of day or night along with cookies through the day...have to grab the cookies quickly though. The way the rooms are situated gives you the feeling of privacy because most are stacked on top of each other with private entrances rather than a hotel side-by-side arrangement. This style also allows for windows all around.

I can appreciate the attempt to modernize the bathroom, but the design of the shower is terrible with no real barrier to keep water from splashing outside the shower and the water pressure is almost non-existent! Additionally, the carpet is old, and I wonder how frequently it is deep cleaned. There is no smell, and it does feel clean, but carpet just traps everything, so it makes you wonder.

This property was literally across the street from the beach the rooms and the property its self was amazing and the staff from the morning to the night were the most accommodating and nicest people walking out the room you get the fresh beach air and breeze

Exceptional quality and location!

I cant say enough on the friendless and quality of our visit. The front desk was so helpful and sincere, the view from our room was spot on,the beautiful ocean, sea lions Just a great experience. A big plus was the quality of the of materials used in a recent renovation. Bathroom,flooring living area ant patio areas Were all neat and clean.
