Exceptional

We had the perfect stay here. Upon arrival we were sat down and offered some apple and peppermint tea made fresh by the chef, we chose our breakfast for the following morning, which was brought to us in bed. In the evening there was complimentary drinks from the bar and canaps made fresh for us, and we sat out on the balcony playing chess and sipping on our drinks. The room was clean and modern, with a great waterfall shower. Dont regret spending a bit extra for this stay.

Decent location; great breakfast and amenities; very difficult to eat breakfast on tray

The breakfast was outstanding

We ate the breakfast at a table on the balcony, but it would have been very difficult to eat it on the tray in the room. The room was smaller than we prefer.

Perfect in every way

Breakfast was delicious - loved that it was made fresh for each guest and delivered to the room by lovely friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed mixing and mingling with the other guests in the library each evening. We met some really interesting folk from all around the world and enjoyed that the Fitzroy staff also stayed around to chat with us.

Can't think of a thing - everything was perfect for our 4 night stay with friends. A real joy to find such a quality hotel so close to everything in Ponsonby. I felt like I was on holiday in Europe!

It was very much like a home away from home stay - everything was well catered for

The exceptional thing was the fact I loved that I could open all my windows for fresh air But that aside I loved that I felt it was like being home away from home ; it was very well appointed

I did think if there were 2 of us - there probably could do with 2 chairs in the room

Lovely boutique hotel in Auckland

Excellent full breakfast delivered to the room. Hotel in a quiet neighborhood of restored Victorian houses but three blocks from the hip, buzzing Ponsonby Street.

Very good

Overall very comfortable stay in a wonderful neighborhood, close proximity to shops and cafes.

Very well appointed room, nice minibar and breakfast service.

I stayed in the Clark room which is ground floor adjacent to the main entrance door and Richmond Rd. There was alot of noise from the traffic and from incoming guests.

Breakfast was delicious but too much as they have continental + eggs if you asked for latter. Might want to give guests more choices to subtract excess they wont eat.

Was just a bit small, particularly for eating in room. If there were public areas to eat would be better but they were all outdoors with no heat.

Nice, but.

Clean, welcoming staff, comfortable bed, great location. Fabulous breakfast, even if nowhere to sit to eat it.

$450+ a night room that was so small there was only room for 1 chair jammed in corner. Promoted library area for mingling with other guests so small had only 2 chairs. Not great value for money.
