Great Hotel for a Holiday Weekend

It was the third hotel we reserved on the 31st of December after two others had rejected our reservations. Note to fellow travellers: if the property is 'pay at the property' expect you have no reservation in Saigon, especially on a holiday weekend. Also beware of apartments that are marketed as hotel rooms. However, this hotel turned out to be just what we needed and wanted. Great pool, clean room, helpful staff, late checkout, and they honored our reservation.

The front desk check-in was a mess. But they were under exceptional strain since many others were in the same situation as me: desperately trying to find a hotel that would honour a reservation on a holiday weekend.

My second stay at The Equatorial and it is one of the best Hotels I have stayed at.

The Equatorial is great value. Rooms and bed is perfect. Breakfast is good. Staff are perfect.The swimming pool is amazing and the spa, suna and steam room are very good.

Located away from shops and town centre but on the plus side they have shuttles which run to town center.

there is a gym, but modest.

early in the morning, music began to play in the corridor, which woke me up. The doors are closed with a crash, so whoever comes in the hallway at night will be all the guests in the hallway. for a 5 star hotel the noise level in the hotel is too high. In general, this is an old hotel and does not pull on 5 stars.

Disappointing

Second time, but not a third.

Its the second time i visited this hotel. I was confirmed a room with pool access, but at check-in, which was such a mess, we got a room with no pool access. After about an hour of back and forth they finally got us a room, but with separate beds and pool access. This was not what we booked and what was confirmed, so very disappointing experience. Another hour went to connect to their wi-fi, which didnt work as the room number changed, but after four times to the lobby they finally managed to get it right. Unfortunately this experience left me a bit disappointed, as the previous time it was ok. But i would recommend getting a hotel closer to city center and the shopping area, this hotels location is not very nice and you will need transportation to downtown. The pool is nice though!

All in all a wonderful 2 nights stay and we wish we had more time 8.5/10

Staff very helpful and quick check in Wonderful room with bath and balcony with view over pool and city (comfy bed) Fantastic a la carte dinner in restaurant and lovely bar with good selection of drinks. Beautiful and spacious pool area with swim up bar Option of gym and spa (reasonably priced)

Breakfast was not included. City Centre Shuttle Bus could start a bit earlier e.g. 9am instead 11am and offer more pick up points (currently only Dong Khoi Street). Some areas might benefit from renovation
