Very good

Edinburgh Badger trip December 2023

The location was ideal for everything we wanted to do , staff were polite and very helpful, rooms were very comfortable and ideal

The only gripe was more about other customers rather than staff tbh , it seamed to be unorganised when it came to sitting down for breakfast, everyone got asked what time they were coming down so tables would be available but always seamed to have to sit in another room due to people just coming down at any time rather than when they said they were.

Wouldnt stay again, only positive thing was the pleasant staff.

Staff were pleasant.

Room was tiny with a small double bed, me and my partner were so cramped. We stayed in room 311 and it was like an extra room through the fire exit door, very secluded and not welcoming at all, and very noisy, doors slamming all hours of the night. Rooms are nothing like the photos advertised, they only show the very upgraded rooms. Our standard room was awful, nearly 300 for 2 nights.

Couldnt recommend it

The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good and the bed was fairly comfortable.

The shower and sink had limescale and mould around them, the general cleaning needed attention to detail. There were only 2 small bath towels, no hand towel or bath mat, had to ask for fresh towels on day 3. Got a hair dry for the room on the 3rd time of asking. The radiator wasnt working in the bathroom so it was cold as it was January. No natural light in the bedroom or ventilation. It was expensive as over the New Year which was expected but the services didnt match the cost. Wouldnt stay there again.

Exceptional

Cute and cosy stay near the action

Wonderful breakfasts and friendly staff, clean and cosy. Everything you could want in a stay. Proximity to the main exciting parts of the city was top marks, too. I recommend the full Scottish breakfast with poached eggs. Cute furniture in the room, too, and the shower pressure was very nice. Doors were open to get in despite late nights and the front desk was always staffed. Felt safe and secure.

Superb

Happy Hogmonay!

The location is superb and within a reasonable walking distance to both Edinburugh Castle and the main high street where the new year street party and open air theatre was held. Just around the corner was local cafe's, Tesco express and a gorgeous Italian restaurant we found. The hotel staff were really friendly and welcoming and helpful when needed. The hotel has spaces reserved in a secure closed underground car park, which you are advised to book, due to very limited and often full car parking around the city, so very glad we did this. The hotel was well equipped for eating and drinking too. I would stay there again despite the few nit picks with the room.

There was a botched plaster repair to a very severe and leaking damp patch to the ceiling of the shower, although the shower itself was fantastic. The toilet seat was? Broken/loose, but usable. The bedside lamp had two broken spokes, when turning it on, so had to keep it balanced. The bed had a ripped cardboard base on the left lower side, but given this, the bed was actually really comfy and we got a great night's sleep each night. None of the above would put us off stopping there again, as we used it purely as a base for touring Edinburugh and attending the new year/Hogmonay festivities.

Location was good

Carpets were stained and required me to sleep with socks on as I did not want to stand barefoot on them when getting up. I booked because of breakfast and car parking included. NO breakfast unless paying a further 30 and car parking cost an additional 18. Advert was misleading.

Disappointing

The hotel was great 3 star and could be again with some proper planning

Good selection and great staff Great location Staff at the front desk and restaurant were great

Cleaning and maintenance is poor.thus is a management issue. In a 9 night stay the room was not vacuumed and bathroom floor was not cleaned

Very good

Was handy for sight seeing.

Very handy for travelling into centre. Bus stop just yards from hotel. Parking at hotel was very handy. Breakfast was very good and staff very friendly.

Room is a bit basic but comfortable. Radiator in room did not work and was quite cold.
