Ac wasn't in working condition. Had to be repaired after we arrived .As its very humid in velankani very bad experience on just entering room after tiresome journey.

Overpriced, piggy backing on the brand but lacking service

The location its literally 5 mins walk from the Basilica, Holy Walk & from the beach. Room size was good. Hot water available at all times. Towel/shampoo/body wash/talc provided, sockets, bed side table, air conditioner, table, chairs, night light, tv was provided but only with the free channels so limited options to watch. Wifi was available but weak network. I think the Saravana Bhavan brand name probably draws new customers (as I don't see anyone recommending this place or the service). Lift was available. Mosquito Repellent provided in room (requested during booking).

I paid twice the average nightly rate for similar hotels/rooms even though it was off season, but was left unimpressed. I had booked for 2 people but room was set up for 1 person (towel/shampoo/bodywash/talc) and I had to ask housekeeping and the reception 4-5 times before a second set was provided. A vegetarian breakfast is downstairs in the public restaurant and was supposed to be included in my booking but the reception didn't give me "vouchers" during check-in and even when I went and asked for it they seemed to do so grudgingly (so many guests probably paid instead of asking). Kids are allowed to run through corridors at all hours without any intervention by hotel so you might be disturbed if you are a light sleeper (also morning prayers on loud speakers near by can wake you up). The dirt & mud in the corridors were swept up but left near the door entrance for a while (meaning it all came inside again)

Disappointing

Not worth the price. Only paying for location

Location is the main plus point for this hotel. If you dont want to walk too much, then this is near all the key locations. Room was clean and staff were friendly.

NOISE - window opening onto the kitchen of the restaurant. All day and night long I could hear vessels being washed noisely. - There is an internal phone in every floor. When this rings, you can hear it very loudly in your room like an alarm. When this phone rings late in the night and 4am in the morning, couldnt sleep at all. FACILITIES - Aircon never worked for the one day I stayed there, although we called staff to repair. It didnt work again in the night. No point paying for AC room when AC doesnt work - Box sized room with just space for one person to walk on either side of the bed. VALUE FOR MONEY - Not worth. I would pay 1/3 the price or less for the room and facilities. Its only the location you are paying for. If you are ready to walk 5-10 minutes then you get rooms 3 to 4 times the size with very good facilities.
