Excellent stay with great hosts, amazing location, food, and experience

Great stay, amazing food, superb location, and above all, the warmest hospitality that you can ask for is what would be a summary of Poothali Homestay. It feels like a home away from home. A quaint village setup, a nearby beach, greenery all around, and smiling faces everywhere you go, make it a place you want to go back to. The food prepared was lip-smackingly good with the authentic taste that you just crave for after you return back from vacation. The hospitality is genuine and warm, the rooms were clean, there was ample parking space, the home stay has a lot of open spaces inside, hot water round the clock, help a call away, and peace and silence. Definitely looking forward to going back there again.

Ms Sunita the care taker of the property was very helpful. We wanted no onion garlic food which they were able to provide. The stay is remote but beach is 1km from the property. We had nice walk in the early morning.

Breakfast & dinner was good but minimal. Aesthetically done common space. Care taker family are very friendly & took good care of us.

Rooms & bathrooms are small. Dont get the value for money.

The place is very tastefully built depicting kerala culture very beautifully. It's extremely clean and the staff is very helpful and homely. The house gives a very home like feeling specially with the sumptuous food cooked by Sunita. She is an excellent cook and ensures meals are served on time and sufficient. The house is facing beautiful fields which gives urban people experience the rural life overlooking the fields was a beautiful experience .Highly highly recommend this place to experience a calm and serene environment and a beautiful house with home cooked birth kerala cuisine.

Excellent Homestay with village ambience and excellent food

We stayed at Poothali Homestay in Dec 2021, and I should say this was the best stay and food experience we had in a homestay after staying in different parts of southern india. The highlight of the property is the typical kerala-malabar village architecture and setup and the location is peaceful and calm. its just 1 km from the nearby beach, and not very harsh temperature due to plenty of trees and air'ey all round. The best place to hangout for us was the red-oxide layed terrace on first floor. They are tall roofed with clay roof tiles, which gives cool ambience around, and open balconies. plenty of activities can be planned for small to medium sized families. I would like to be at this place all day long. Ms Sunitha, our host at Poothali, is excellent at her hospitality and preparing food. She and her team cooked us delicious kerala lunch (or Sadya) along with fresh catch of fishes procured from local fishermen, based on our special request as we had an early checking. The evening snacks, dinner and breakfast was perfect mix of kerala cuisines, and cooked as per our spice and salt levels. I recommend this homestay for anyone who want to indulge in quiet holiday living and those who would want to try out genuine kerala and malabar cuisines.

Tranquil place with an amazing food.

We had a family stay in Poothali. It was really great experience. They have lot of stories behind every curios they used for their interiors. Evening view from their varandha would never fade away from your memory. Such a calm and quiet place!!! Above all, they have an amazing care taker,Mrs.Sunitha, who prepare lot of local delicacies. Overall it's really worth for your money.

The best in Bekal

If you want to experience your village stay with traditional food, This is the place !!! They offer you the best delicacies of Kerala. We made a request for Kerala sadhya, which they served on Banana leaf. Evening snacks were very much homely. We will comeback with friends again. Love you Poothali.

Perfect and Comfortable Homestay

We liked the food a lot. They served authentic Kerala food. Rooms were spacious and the arrangements very comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay at the property. Good ambience, delicious food and an amazing experience. The property looked absolutely stunning inside and out. The place has wifi facility, so we were able to stay connected always. The beautiful view of paddy fields were a delight to the eyes. We were wondering when we could come for a longer stay in this place.

Wonderful boutique property with an amazing view.

Amazing view from the property. First floor is really an ancestral kind of one with lot of antique curios and furnishings. Really worth for the money what you pay. Food quality also highly appreciable with Keralan village dishes
