Great place for our family of 5 to stay in Galle and be able to walk to all the sights.

Wonderful location, right in the middle of Galle Fort. Very friendly staff and proprietor. Comfortable rooms.

The proximity to the street is definitely a blessing overall, but in our case (we stayed on NYE) it meant that a lot of celebration noises and loud music was audible from one of the rooms. This is definitely not a fault of the property, and may even be a good thing overall depending on what you are looking for.

Location was perfect for restaurants, shops and walks around the fort. large room, very clean, great hosts

Traffic noise but this is because of the central location, cannot be helped and will be the same anywhere you stay on the Fort. The traffic was quiet at night.

Great location in the fort

The location was amazing inside the fort. Walking distance to everything.

Room 206 - felt like the last room in the hotel, fleet like nobody had been in it for a while. Shower was the worst I've experienced in Sri Lanka - very limited water pressure on all occasions. Breakfast was okay. Room said it had a street view, hairdryer, kettle, TV - but had none of these.

We were warmly welcomed and looked after in every possible way. Hope we can return someday.

The best thing was the over-the-top hospitality and service. Our hosts were accommodating of our needs, exceeding expectations and just good people.

Inadequate facilities and rude staff

The air conditioner was set to 29 degrees and could not be adjusted which means it was absolutely useless in stifling overnight heat. The fan above the bed just moved hot air around the room so we had a very uncomfortable stay. Breakfast was rice with a very spicy cube of fish with bones. We thought wed paid before we left in the morning (via Booking.com) but we received a very abusjve and rude phone message and a threatening text from the host. We went back to the accommodation to sort it out as soon as wed been advised there was an issue but received more abuse when we arrived. Given our uncomfortable stay, awful food and rude host we certainly wont be returning here!

Owner was super friendly and helpful, even provided me with a towel the day after when I got soaked in the rain. Location was great (right near Lighthouse), bed was comfy and room had good A/C. Restaurant downstairs is convenient and has good food.

It wasn't an issue for me, but the shower is a little cramped.

Recommendable

The location is fantastic - right inside the Fort area. The hosts were very welcoming and prompt. The old world charm is intact. The entrance to the building is also a cafe run by the hosts. So, food and drinks are readily at disposal.

Water supply is a little troubling. Force of water from the shower is too feeble and runs dry now and then. Also, running hot water was not available. We had to manage with whatever the water temperature was. Asides, all 3 charging points in the room were not working. We had to manage with the plug point in the common area. While the hosts offered to have it mended, timings did not work out. But we would have liked the fact that this matter was checked prior to allotting us the room.
