Fabulous Franschhoek!!

A beautiful guesthouse set between vineyards and orchards, with the mountains as a backdrop. The property is very close to town, but set on a quiet road. A lovely garden has a pool with sun beds and umbrellas. The breakfast is fantastic and consists of a buffet with continental breakfast as well as cooked breakfast a la carte. Fresh juices are served as well as coffee and tea. There is a lovely covered porch with furniture where one can relax and have a glass of wine. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. The resident dog Cassie is a sweetheart!! Thank you Allen , Yvonne, Petro and Leonora. We had the best time!! Ps. There is a night watchman so cars and property will be safe.

Wonderful, unforgettable experience...not just a B&B

My whole experience at L'Auberge Chanteclair was exceptional. From the welcome and warmth of Allan, Yvonne and staff, through to the coziness of the living areas, the wonderful setting, cool, clear swimming pool, most amazing Breakfasts and just general homeliness and stunning location, it definitely over-exceeded my expectations. As a tour guide, I was there for work, but I will definitely return with my wife for a couple of nights just to relax. I highly recommend it and will surely be back. Kass was a wonderful wonderer who also made it feel like home.

Everything!!! We were amazed by the place when we arrived. It has a vineyard, and the garden is so beautiful and big. The hosts Yvonne and Allen are super nice and helpful. We didn't book any restaurants and didn't have a car during our visit during Christmas but Yvonne and Allen helped us sort everything out. We ended up having the best winery tour with Daniel ( he is recommended by the hosts and a very nice guy) and tried a few good restaurants. The room is very clean, comfortable and homy. Last but not least, the breakfast is amazing!!! Everything is fresh and delicious!!! I think they probably get most of it's produce from it's garden. I would definitely go back if I visit Franschhoek.

Perfect !

Auberge Chanteclair is far more than a hotel. The staff and the atmosphere there truly makes you feel at home. The breakfast is delicious, the staff goes out of their way to assist you and the scenery in and around the property is stunning. Would give more than 5 stars if I could. The best hotel I have stayed in for a long time.

Stunning and charming guesthouse with fantastic hosts in the beautiful Franschhoek area

Chanteclair is a truly amazing guesthouse to stay. Allan and Yvonne are warm and friendly hosts with lots of fun stories and wonderful knowledge of life in Botswana and South Africa. Chanteclair is a working vineyard and has beautiful gardens and a pool to enjoy. All the rooms are beautifully and comfortably decorated, with relaxing patios and gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. We were offered a choice of two private cottages. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious with lots of homemade specialties and floral decorations. Weather permitting, you sit on a lovely terrace with the sun rising over the hill, or when raining, a very cozy breakfast room with a roaring log fire. Chanteclair is extremely quiet as it is approximately a 15-minute walk along a country road to reach the village where many of the fantastic restaurants and small shops are located. It's a pretty and safe walk into the village. The Chanteclair wine is really tasty and can be purchased from the hosts - there was always a choice left in your room.

Franschhoek is a small town, which makes it extremely charming and enjoyable, but sadly, the uber/taxi service is very expensive in the evenings when you need to get back to Chanteclair safely (the roads are not well lit outside of the village). After paying very reasonable prices in Cape Town, it was a real shock to pay the high prices for a short ride. This is no fault of the guesthouse!

Excellent inn. Stay there!!!

The breakfasts served were delicious, with homemade breads and preserves in addition to a vast assortment of fruits, cereals, meats, cheeses, and eggs. To wake up and come out to a toasty fire warming us in the morning chill was beyond wonderful!
