The Hotel Shattuck Plaza offers excellent customer service, with a kind welcome and smooth late check-in process. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, although there is no microwave o (Read More)r refrigerator. The hotel is quaint, quiet, and conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Parking is available in a nearby garage at an affordable rate. Guests felt safe with the requirement of a room key to enter the front door. The hotel is also easily walkable to downtown Berkeley. Overall, it provides great value for a 4-star hotel.

A great hotel for a very reasonable price.

This hotel is a great choice. The rooms are great, the restaurant offers delicious meals and the staff are very friendly.

When we decided to extend our stay, the hotel was unable to create a new reservation for us. Instead, we had to book online via Booking.com and then finish the process at thee hotel. Why there is an extra step, makes no sense to me.

Very good

Very central location in Berkeley, right next to the BART station and in walking distance of the university. Nice hotel with just the right moderate amount of fancy. The room was confortable overall.

My room was near the elevator, so it was a bit noisy at time. Also the fridge in the room was very noise, so I just unplugged it as I wasn't using it anyways.

Very good

Great access to BART. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great price.

Lots of street noise, including busses stopping right outside the hotel until late at night - but we can't really complain since we intentionally chose something right next to a BART station. There was some construction in the building nextdoor, which made the elevator and hallways smell overwhelmingly of dumpster/trash the whole time we were there. Fortunately the smell was not present in the rooms.

Do not recommend

Poor service. The internet service was down for 3 hours. The front desk was rude and did not apologize for the inconvenience. She said it was down in all neighborhood which was not true. It happened again the second day. I forgot to bring my tooth brush. The hotel does not even have one. I had to wait for them trying to get one from somewhere else.
