Stayed over the NYE weekend and had an amazing stay.

Beautiful property, they even upgraded our room for free. We had an amazing stay.

Amazing gem of a place directly on the Riverwalk!

Hotel Contessa is absolutely an outstanding location, and a perfect place to stay for a longer visit to San Antonio! The accommodations are spacious, we were quite comfortable as a family of four, and the pool was heated so the kids could swim on Christmas Day. The best staff were the valet and bellhop crowd. They represent Hotel Contessa incredibly well. The hotel exits directly onto the Riverwalk, and is definitely a must stay if you want access on foot directly to everything there. Christmas was gorgeous, and I would hands down return at any time of year!

Our room was not cleaned for two days, even though I repeatedly asked the front desk to make sure it was cleaned. We also got locked out of our room on the last day, so little things like maintenance would be beneficial, as it is a four-star hotel. Also, beware of parking if you have your own car. Most of the overnight garages nearby are a flat rate for leaving your car there, with no in and out option. We found a lot that was about a ten minute walk from the hotel, so that we could come and go as much as we wanted, but definitely do your research beforehand if you aren't interested in valet-only at Hotel Contessa.

Location is all I can say i liked about the hotel... nothing more unfortunately.

Vallet parking was a huge inconvenience which took about 45 minutes to retrieve our vehicle. We had no hand soap upon arrival in our hotel room. I personally called them to request and two days later when we checked out it still had not arrived. In fact, we made three separate attempts to request, and finally just gave up. It turned into a family joke actually. We ended using body wash from the shower to clean our hands.

Nothing to like about this awful trip. The check in time was not available until 2hrs after the actual check in time of 4pm. We also didn't get our request for next together room deal to our olderly father who needs to be on wheelchair. Once we get our second room 2hrs later, it was the wrong one. We reserved a double bed but they gave us a king bed, so I have to sleep on the couch. The room was not supplied w soap, lotion. As I asked for them, they said they don't have it. They even said they don't have toilet paper even if we are ask for it. Omg what kind of hotel is this

The hotel is not met the bottom basic standard at the price we paid for. I never encountered hotel that was so behind the check in time. This is absolutely a disaster & horrible experience. I will never go back or recommend anyone to stay there. I was there a few years ago & it was night & day difference. I truly was very disappointed & upset of the entire stay & this is not what I paid for.
