The El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort received mostly positive reviews. Guests enjoyed the pool area, especially the water slide and main pool, and the friendly staff provided excellent service (Read More). Some guests mentioned that the rooms were a bit dated, but overall the resort was well cared for and very clean. The Thanksgiving brunch was pricey but worth it, with exceptional food and service. The pool was big and the poolside food and drinks were excellent. There were some mixed reviews due to issues with reservations, but the staff was accommodating once the error was found. Overall, guests would stay here again and highly recommend the resort.

You get what you pay for. Not the most luxurious place, but comfortable with wonderful views!

The views of the Catalina mountains were spectacular from our room - we had a pool and mountain view. Rooms looked to be recently updated, and were clean and comfortable. Our room was very well insulated, so we did not hear the music or noise from the pool. The staff was very helpful. We had to switch rooms due to a "rattling" air conditioner, and they worked with us to find an equally nice room. Saltwater pools were clean and inviting. Several fabulous places close by to hike, but bring your boots, LOTS of water, hats, sunscreen, etc.

The small adult pool had no services, like water, food, drinks. I would had much rather swam there due to the loud music and activity of the main pool area. There was only 1 sun umbrella for all of the pool area. The sun chairs in the main pool area were a bit worn and threadbare, but it looked like they were "in the process" of bein replaced. The chairs on all of the balconies were old and worn, and EXTREMELY uncomfortable to sit in. If you have children, know that the little kids swim area is pretty small and can get crowded fast. The grounds needed to be attended to. There was so much garbage along the path from the main resort to the adult pool. (plastic bottles, wrappers, napkins, etc). It would take 1 person about 30 min each day to go along those 2 paths and pick up. Drinks were pretty expensive, and 2 of the bartenders at the pool had to "look up" simple drink recipes. Bicycle rental was to be used "on the grounds" only. We wanted to ride to breakfast about 1 mile away. Could not do it.

Disappointing

Disappointing at the lack of respect shown by Hilton as summed up above.

Room was spacious enough and clean

We were told at check in that the King room we reserved 4 months earlier was not available as there were 3 conferences and they used our room reservation for one of these groups. We were put in a casita with 2 queen rooms. Parking for this was far from the casita and up a fairly steep incline which was less than ideal. For the price we paid and the fact that we booked 4 MONTHS early, I would have thought our reservation would have been honored. If we had know that our $775.00 reservation (fee + Resort charges) would not been for what we booked, I would have looked elsewhere as there are plenty of nice places to stay in the area. I would suggest you let the guest know in advance when you can't honor a reservation and they can choose whether to be overcharged for something they did not book or provide a refund.
