We have just visited Kenya on a 9D/8N safari trip. We have to appreciate the nic (Read More)e arrangements made by Scope Safaris through out our trip.
While food and restaurant service at Jambo Safari Lodge, Maasai Mara could certainly take some improvement, all the properties offered to us, including Jambo, were quite comfortable and pleasantly attractive. Rhino Watch Safari Lodge at Ol' Pejeta and Muthu Lake Country Club at Lake Naivasha were especially beautiful and very well managed.
The game safaris, under the attentive supervision of naturalist and guide Ephentus, were both interesting and delightfully informative. We had a wonderful time viewing so many animals, both game and hunters, and aquatic birds in their natural habitat freely and gracefully moving around at close quarters. At Crescent Island, one could virtually touch the graceful animals. A small disappointment though was that while hoards of wildebeests and zebra were arriving at the southern bank of river Mara, they did not take the plunge and crossover to north despite a daylong wait.
While some of the long road trips could have been somewhat better refined to reduce travel time, overall trip was exceptionally enjoyable and really beyond our expectation.
Pragna and I both sincerely appreciate excellent service from Justus Muli and his team at Scope Safaris keeping in mind our special requirements as senior citizens.
We had a memorable trip which we shall no doubt cherish for a long time.
Thank you, Justus and thank you, Ephentus, for making our trip really memorable.

As mentioned above, food and food related service at Jambo Safari, Maasai Mara c (Read More)alls for some improvement in terms of variety and quality of preparation. We were required to crisscross and undertake some long road trips which could have been possibly avoided with better planning.

All arrangements including hotel, game drives, food arrangements, personalised s (Read More)ervices by İmara Destinations was excellent
We started our trip from New Delhi to Nairobi via Mumbai by Indigo flight. Dennis was there to welcome us at the airport early in the morning. We started off to Samburu, had lunch on the way had a relaxing evening at the resort. We had a wonderful game drive next day at the samburu national reserve, saw a leopard, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, etc from close quarters. We went to ol Pajeto conservancy, fed blind rhino, saw chimpanzees and other animals including two horned rhinos, proceeded to Nakuru saw pelicans, flamingos etc there, Masai Mara we stayed for three nights and had two game drives.
Could see lots of lions, cheetah with its prey as well as a pregnant cheetah, zebras, giraffes etc. we also saw ostriches and other animals and birds there. We then went to Naivasha had a boat ride with walk and see crocodiles and hippos and crescent island visit walked with zebras, impalas and wildebeest but couldn’t see giraffe there. Due to floods last year many parts of crescent island got submerged so could only see part of the island. Our last destination was Amboseli park with game drive there. Overall it was a highly satisfying and interesting experience. İmara Destinations did a very good job of taking us to the exact spots where animals would be seen uninterrupted. Well done İmara Destinations. Thanks to Dennis and Murray for it
Kenya Travel Essentials
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Kenya is from July to October, when the Great Migration takes place in Maasai Mara and the dry season makes wildlife spotting easier. This is the most popular period for safaris. January to March is another good window, especially for birdwatching and clear skies in Amboseli. April to June and November to December bring rains that make landscapes lush and green, though some safari lodges may close and road travel can be slower.
Ideal Duration & Popular Itineraries
Kenya holidays usually range from 6 to 8 days, focused on safaris across major reserves. Popular formats include:
6 Days: Nairobi city sights, Maasai Mara safaris, and a boat ride at Lake Naivasha.
7 Days: Adds Amboseli National Park for Kilimanjaro views, along with Maasai Mara and Naivasha.
8 Days: Covers Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Maasai Mara, and ends with a short beach stay at Mombasa or Diani.
Top Things to Do
Witness the Great Migration at Maasai Mara (July–October)
Spot elephants, lions, cheetahs, and rhinos on guided safaris
Take a boat ride at Lake Naivasha and see hippos and birdlife
Enjoy Kilimanjaro views and herds of elephants at Amboseli National Park
Relax at Mombasa or Diani beaches on the Indian Ocean coast
Top Destinations Combined with Kenya
Kenya packages are sometimes extended with:
Tanzania for Serengeti safaris and Ngorongoro Crater
Zanzibar for a beach holiday after game drives
Why Book a Package for Kenya
Park permits handled: Game drives and reserve entries require advance bookings, managed within packages.
Long-distance transport arranged: Safaris involve hours of road travel between parks, included with private vehicles and drivers.
Trusted safari lodges: Packages secure reliable stays inside or near reserves that often sell out in peak season.
Expert guides included: Local rangers and naturalists enhance the experience with knowledge of wildlife and tracking.
Time-saving: Coordinating multiple parks and routes independently is difficult; packages streamline the entire safari circuit.

A 7 to 10-day trip is ideal for exploring Kenya’s top highlights. This allows time for wildlife safaris in Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli, along with a relaxing beach stay in Mombasa or Diani. If you're short on time, a 5-day itinerary covering just Masai Mara and Nairobi is also popular among Indian travelers.

Yes, Indian passport holders need a visa to visit Kenya. The eTA process is simple and can be done on the official Kenyan portal.
How can I go to Kenya from India?
There are no direct flights from India to Kenya, but there are convenient one-stop connections.
