Sunrise, Sunset and Pattaya Beach, and which to sleep on

Koh Lipe is small enough to walk across in twenty minutes and has three main beaches, each facing a different way. Which one you stay on shapes the whole trip.

Here is the list of 4 Beaches in Koh Lipe

1. Sanom Beach

Sanom Beach

Sanom Beach is a beautiful beachfront located on the coastline of the Koh Lipe Island in Thailand. The attraction is famous for its turquoise blue shallow waters, a long stretch of white sand and a good deal of beach bungalows offering instant access to the beach. People staying at the cottages can enjoy a fabulous view of the Andaman sea right from their rooms. Sanom Beach is a favourite with beach lovers.

2. Sunrise Beach

Sunrise Beach

Sunrise Beach is another white sand beach in Koh Lipe, Thailand. It is located to the eastern end of the island and is, therefore, an excellent beach for sunrise views. The crystal clear turquoise waters here are perfect for scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming, boating, etc. The soft sandy stretch of 2 kilometres is perfect for sunbathing, relaxing or for taking a long leisurely walk.

3. Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach is located on the western end of the Koh Lipe Island in Thailand. The island draws visitors for its sunset views. The beach is locally known as Hat Pramong and is a 500-metre bay area that forms the shore. This small attraction is less known to tourists. The people who visit often come for the tranquillity and the scenic and clean surroundings.

4. Billa Beach

Billa Beach

Billa Beach is yet another hidden and unexploited coastline on the Koh Lipe Island. The route to the attraction goes from the mountain slopes through dense vegetation. One can get a glimpse of the clear blue waters of the ocean as they walk their way down to the beach. The place is also famous for the beach bungalows, most of them built on the slopes. Billa Beach can be the right spot for those seeking a quiet place.

FAQs on Beaches in Koh Lipe

Which beach should I stay on in Koh Lipe?

Sunrise Beach for the longest stretch of sand and the best swimming, Sunset Beach for quiet and the view, and Pattaya Beach if you want restaurants, bars and the ferry pier on your doorstep.

How do I get to Koh Lipe?

Ferries and speedboats from Pak Bara pier in Satun, about ninety minutes, or from Langkawi in Malaysia in high season. Getting to Pak Bara from Bangkok is a flight to Hat Yai plus a couple of hours by road.

Is Koh Lipe open all year?

Not really. Most accommodation and the ferry services shut down through the monsoon, roughly mid-May to mid-October, and the island empties. The season runs November to April.

Is the snorkelling good?

Very. Lipe sits inside Tarutao National Marine Park and the reefs around it and the nearby islands are among the healthiest in Thailand. Longtail day trips to Koh Adang and the surrounding islets are the standard outing.

Is there much to do besides the beach?

Not much, which is the point. Walking Street connects the three beaches with food and shops, there is a viewpoint climb on Koh Adang across the channel, and otherwise it is swimming, snorkelling and eating.
